Ever have one of those days when you know you are exactly where you’re supposed to be? I had one of those yesterday at our monthly meeting of Women Writers of the Triad. Anora McGaha and Kerry Holjes joined us and shared their passion and their projects – Women Writers, Women’s Books and When Women Waken.
It very quickly became an intense and exciting discussion of how to foster a writing community where we encourage our sisters, where their experiences are valued and their stories are heard. Questions and ideas flew all over the room and the spirit of inclusion and community so precious to Anora and Kerry spread like wildfire. The energy among those women was palpable and in my mind’s eye, I could see sparks of creativity and resolve popping all over the room.
And I left there, as I woke this morning, full to the brim nay overflowing with enthusiasm and hope. There’s nothing quite like waking up on a Monday morning (or any morning for that matter) feeling all connected and inspired.
And that, dear friends, is my way of saying thank you.
