Women Writers of the Triad is looking for photography that we will use on our website and potentially other marketing pieces and we would love your help:
Photographers: We are looking for photography to use throughout our site. It might be a flower in bloom. It might be a bank of roses. We’ll know it when we see it. Submit your flowers, skies, fields in bloom, or any other pieces that, to you, represent our mission of providing a nurturing place for women to write, learn to better their craft, and find their voice. A safe place to bloom.
Your work and all credit and rights will forever remain with you. If your piece or pieces are selected, you will receive credit wherever they are displayed along with links to your work.
E-mail your submissions to Women Writers of the Triad. Be sure the mark the subject header with Photography Contest. Or shoot us a link to the published work on your blog. We’re easy.
Deadline for submissions: March 30, 2013
Give it a shot. And share it with your friends! We are about supporting women, and that includes other artists — and we would love to see your work. We’ll select multiple pieces from the entries and you’ll be notified by e-mail shortly after the submissions’ deadline.

Thank you, beautiful!
Oh you are too sweet 🙂
I could never enter I can’t pick good ones 🙂
Oh, you MUST!
then you pick a good one 🙂
It seems like a great opportunity. Is there a format or directions for making submissions? Strictly flowers? May we include our watermarks, or do you prefer we not ‘sign’ our work? How many submissions may we make?
So glad you’ve found us! We initially believed flowers would be the most clearly aligned with a woman opening up to writing and bettering her craft, but if you have an image that speaks to our mission, PLEASE send it. I don’t want to limit us by my own short sight! Please submit without a watermark, or if watermarked at present, we may ask winning entries to be re-submitted for use without. But we WILL attribute your work and give you credit at every opportunity! And please feel free to write to me directly at melissa@melissahassard.com if you have additional questions on submitting your work.
Awesome! I will gather some flower photographs and send them your way soon 🙂
Wonderful, Chanel! Look forward to seeing your work!!
So far, I have had a great time playing with WordPress.
I have posted my photos of flowers, waves, sunsets, birds….and even a yucky bowl of mold on my website— “stories with no books.” No particular niche. I’m not sure why. Perhaps creativity does not breathe as freely in a box of predetermined expectations.
If you think one or more fits with our project, please by all means submit!
Hi there! This looks just up my street – I adore flowers and photographing them. Would you accept entries from a British woman living in Italy? Just thought I’d check first!
Damaris, oh, yes of course! Yes, yes! We would love to see your work!

I have a number that are good enough for consideration but my only anxiety is over bombarding you with emails + attachements. Shall I zip two or three together?
Laura, that would be perfectly fine. Thank you for being so considerate!

This is interesting!
Is this only for professional photographers? I have some beautiful pictures, but I’m not a professional. Would you be willing to link to a web site that is not photography related?
Of course we would promote any website or blog that you shared with us. And we welcome all submissions as long as you are female. We are about supporting and lifting artists at all levels.
Here’s my entry for this contest → http://photographybynizy.wordpress.com/2013/02/19/women-writers-of-the-triad-photography-contest-in-time-for-spring/
Awesome, Nizy! Thanks for entering!!
You’re welcome! xoxo
